Pontoon Bridge For The Polish Army. Market Analysis in Progress.

The Armament Inspectorate informed that a market analysis is being carried out, concerning a potential acquisition of pontoon bridges for the Polish Army, for the purpose of realizing water obstacle crossing operations.

The Armament Inspectorate informed that a technological dialogue, realized in a form of a market analysis, is being carried out, concerning a potential acquisition of pontoon bridges for the Polish Army, for the purpose of realizing water obstacle crossing operations. According to the requirements of the Inspectorate, the Army is interested in acquiring an inventory of pontoon bridge systems that would make it possible to create water obstacle crossings (bridge- or ferry-based) with capacity of MLC 70T/96W, in line with the STANAG 2021 norm.

The inventory to be acquired shall consist of vehicles that are being already operated by the Polish Army (optionally, together with vehicles offered by the manufacturer of the bridge system); pontoon modules, ramps and bank blocks; boats; tools; diagnostic equipment package; documentation and equipment used to mark the river crossing area.

According to the requirements of the Armament Inspectorate, the pontoon inventory package is expected to make it possible to create a 100 meters long bridge, or 2 ferries, with load capacity of at least 30 MLC for armoured vehicles and utility/all-terrain vehicles, 70 MLC for main battle tanks and other heavy platforms, and 96MLC for low-loaders or heavy goods vehicles with trailers. Detailed requirements related to the pontoon system have been shared in the attachment of the announcement. At the moment, the Army uses the obsolete PP-64 Wstęga pontoon bridges.

Final offer data submission deadline pertaining the offered pontoon bridges has been defined as 30th April 2016.
