Poland Is Willing To Acquire New Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifles

The Polish Army is willing to acquire new semi-automatic sniper rifles, utilizing the 7.62 x 51 mm NATO ammunition. The Armament Inspectorate announced that it is going to start a procedure of technical dialogue.

The release defines a set of requirements for the weapon to be procured. Besides the ammunition (7,62 x 51 mm NATO), and operation principle (gas operated rifle) it has been stated that the weapon's weight shall not exceed 6 kg (without ammunition and sights), total length of the rifle shall be contained within 1100 mm, while the barrel shall be 510 mm long.

Additionally, the minimum magazine capacity has been defined as at least 10 rounds, the rifle shall be capable to effectively reach targets at distances of 800 m and to have an accuracy contained within 1.5 MOA, when shooting at a target at a distance of 100 m, with precision-graded ammunition and 3-12x scope.

The Armament Inspectorate awaits for the partners who would be willing to be involved in the dialogue until 20th May 2015. The exact deadline for the dialogue is to be set together with the participants.
