The visit of representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the management of the Polish arms industry to Ukraine has come to an end. The meetings included the signing of letters of intent between Polish and Ukrainian arms companies.
Monday’s visit of the Polish delegation to Ukraine had several objectives. According to information provided by the Ministry of Defence, the aim of the Polish delegation to Ukraine was, among other things, to help establish contacts between Polish and Ukrainian arms companies and to enable them to find a platform to discuss possible joint projects. In addition, the Ministry of Defence was keen to present the sales offer proposed by Polish arms companies.
’Ukraine signs various types of contracts for its army every day and it would be good for Poland to participate in this as well. (…) Our main task is that Polish state-owned armament companies, which produce truly brilliant equipment that can be exported all over the world, find their customers here (…).« - said Deputy Minister of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk, who during Monday’s visit met with, among others, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Ivan Havryluk and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov.
New agreements
The visit of the Polish delegation to Ukraine also resulted in the signing of two Polish-Ukrainian agreements that are likely to turn into concrete solutions for the armies of both countries in the near future. A memorandum extending the existing industrial cooperation between PGZ and Ukrobronprom was signed, as well as a letter of intent on cooperation between NAUDI (National Association of the Ukrainian Defence Industry) and the Military Armament Technical Institute (WITU).
As we read on the Ministry of Defence website, similar visits are likely to take place in the future.
