Polish Air Force Hercules and Boeing Evacuating Citizens from Israel

On Sunday, the Polish Air Force started conducting evacuation flights between Poland and Israel. Both transport C-130 Hercules, which recently have taken part in „Route 604” highway base exercise, and VIP/passenger Boeing 737 aircraft are being used.

UPDATE 14:14 Mariusz Błaszczak, Polish Minister of Defence has indicated that Poland will transport the Polish tourists to Greece (Crete), and then they may be airlifted by civil transport. This indicates that C295 may be used as well.

Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland, has authorized the deployment of the Polish Military Contingent consisting of up to 200 personnel, using C-130 Hercules as well as Boeing 737 and Airbus/Casa C295 aircraft. The two former aircraft types are used to fly Polish citizens directly from Israel (supported by military medics and other elements), while C295 have been deployed in Crete for support. The operation to evacuate Polish citizens has received codename NEON.

W poniedziałek rano na Okęciu wylądowały dwa samoloty transportowe C-130 Herkules. Przed nimi lądował tam pasażerski B737.
