Zelensky: 10 days to finalize Kyiv security guarantees

Could a multi-billion-dollar package of American weapons form part of Ukraine’s future security guarantees? „There is indeed a package of our proposals worth $90 billion” - said President Volodymyr Zelensky.
„It will take ten days to work out security guarantees for Kyiv” - he said after Monday’s meeting at the White House. „It is important that the United States sends a clear signal that it will help with coordination and participate in security guarantees for Ukraine” - the ukrainian politician told Reuters.

In turn, „The Financial Times” has written about Kyiv’s proposal for a package of American weapons worth up to $100 billion as part of the safety guarantees for Ukraine. How will it work? European countries will fund the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine, and in return the United States will guarantee to defend Ukraine from Russia. Another proposal is for collaboration between the United States and Ukraine in the drone industry.
It is worth to mention that the Ukrainian president’s proposal is not the first idea concerning possible security guarantees for Ukraine. One of the concepts that has been frequently mentioned in the media is the deployment of peacekeeping forces consisting of soldiers from several European NATO countries on Ukrainian territory.
Zelensky ready to meet Putin
During his visit in the Washington D.C. president Zelensky said that he is ready to meet president of Russia, Vladimir Putin. „I am ready to meet with him. (…) We will leave the issue of territories between me and Putin” - told Ukrainian president.
