Polish Army Acquires 200 Revolver-type Multiple Grenade Launchers
The Armament Inspectorate of the Polish Ministry of Defence invites the bidders to submit their requests, regarding the tender, the aim of which is to procure 40 mm revolver-type multiple grenade launchers.
According to the document, the subject of the order is to procure 200 sets of 40 mm revolver-type multiple grenade launchers. According to the requirements issued by the Polish Armed Forces, the total length of the weapon shall not exceed 950 mm, it is to have a 350 mm long barrel and weigh – without the ammunition and the sight – 6.5 kg.
The weapon’s ammunition is to be supplied via the means of a 6-round drum, and the launcher is to be capable of utilizing 40x46 mm and 40x51 mm MV (Medium Velocity) grenades, including specialized grenades. The weapon is required to provide a practical rate of fire at the level of 12 shots per minute. Distance at which aimed fire is to be possible, with the use of the mechanical or holographic sight, is defined as 800 meters.
According to the information released by the Armament Inspectorate, the following subjects submitted their proposals in the technical dialogue which took part in the beginning of the last year: the Arminex Trading company , with the South African Rippel Effects Systems launcher; the Aycomm company, with the Turkish MKEK launcher; the Monrex company, offering its own grenade launcher which is currently under development; the Unitronex company, offering the South African Milkor launcher, and finally, Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów (Tarnów Mechanical Works), offering their own design, developed with help received from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
