Armed Forces Day: Polish and Allied Armor and Jets in Warsaw

Poland has celebrated Armed Forces Day on August 15th. In Warsaw a large-scale military parade was conducted. Polish Armed Forces displayed approx. 4000 soliders and the most modern equipment, including M1A2 SEPv3, Leopard 2PL and K2 Main Battle Tanks, HIMARS launchers, Rosomak APCs with ZSSW turret, Patriot launchers and others. Also, Polish Apache helicopters were flying over Warsaw for the first time, and Polish Navy ships paraded on the Baltic Sea near Hel peninsula. In addition, multiple Allied contingents took part in the parade, including Swedish, French and German fighter aircraft (Gripen, Rafale and Eurofighter Typhoon respectively) as well as Australian AEW E-7 Wedgetail and French Airbus A330 MRTT aircraft.

The Polish Armed Forces Day is celebrated on August 15th, an anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, when Polish Armed Forces defeated the Red Army during Polish-Bolshevik War in 1920. It is noteworthy that August 15th is somehow a demonstrative date, as the Battle of Warsaw, or Warsaw Operation (effectively a counterattack of the Polish Armed Forces against Red Army) lasted much longer, and a key counter-attack led by Józef Piłsudski started on August 16th.
