Mikołaj Rogalewicz

Mikołaj Rogalewicz is an expert in cybersecurity and countering disinformation, with over eight years of professional experience in these areas. He began his professional career at the Demagog Association, where he worked for over five years as a senior analyst and trainer at the Fact-Checking Academy. For over three years, he worked on the international Kremlin Watchers project, where he analysed Russian disinformation campaigns. For over three years, he has been collaborating with the Cybersecurity Institute Foundation as an expert on cybersecurity and disinformation. In January 2025, he joined the editorial team of the CyberDefence24.pl portal as an editor. He teaches at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw and runs courses as part of the University of Warsaw’s Open University. He holds a degree in international relations from the University of Warsaw and a degree in finance and accounting from the Warsaw School of Economics. He is currently preparing his doctoral thesis at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw, focusing on countering disinformation at European Union level.

In the field of cybersecurity, he focuses on: issues related to digital security in public administration, critical infrastructure and the private sector, cyberattacks and operations carried out by APT groups, the analysis and countering of financial fraud and digital abuse, and cybersecurity regulations (such as NIS 2 and KSC), with particular emphasis on their practical implementation within organisations. In the area of disinformation, he focuses on: the analysis of Russian disinformation campaigns and the activities of troll farms; the use of artificial intelligence both in disinformation mechanisms and in tools to combat them; and countering disinformation at international and national levels, as well as within the non-governmental sector.

The author most frequently publishes on topics such as: cybersecurity from the perspective of the state, critical infrastructure and the private sector; cyberattacks and the activities of APT groups; disinformation – with a particular focus on Russian information campaigns; combating cybercrime; cybersecurity regulations (including NIS 2 and KSC); applications of artificial intelligence, and social media.
