Turkiye expands its defense industry (VIDEO)
Türkiye’s defence industry is strengthening its capabilities, developing new technologies and increasingly opening up to cooperation with European partners.
During a defence industry event in Ankara (NATO Summit), Dr Aleksander Olech spoke with Ahmet Akyol, CEO of ASELSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading defence companies. The conversation focused on the capabilities of the Turkish defence sector, recent investments and the development of technologies used by the Turkish Armed Forces.

ASELSAN develops communication systems, electronic warfare solutions, air defence systems, radars, sensors, command-and-control systems and technologies for land, naval and air platforms. In recent years, the company has become one of the symbols of Türkiye’s growing defence-industrial independence and its increasing presence on international markets.
The interview also covered cooperation with the European defence industry and the potential for deeper relations with Poland. The discussion addressed joint projects, technology transfer and possible areas of industrial cooperation in the context of the modernisation of NATO armed forces.
