Perad, the first Polish tactical radio with a domestically developed cryptographic module, created for the Polish Tytan future combat ensemble, has been approved by the Head of the Armament Agency.

Brigadier General Artur Kuptel, Head of the Armament Agency, approved the decision that formally ends the qualification tests. This solution was developed by the companies of the WB Group as part of the “Tytan Advanced Individual Combat Ensembles” research and development work.

This paves the way for the Polish Armed Forces to order equipment produced by Polish entities.

Perad is the first broadband personal radio in the history of Polish military communications with a domestically developed cryptographic module. The device itself, as well as accessories such as antennas, power supplies, microphone-headset sets, vehicle amplifiers, and single and multi-station chargers, successfully completed tests as part of the qualification test programme.

Earlier, the personal radio station obtained the Cryptographic Protection Certificate – Type Certificate No. 36/2024, issued on May 25, 2024, by the Military Counterintelligence Service. Perad is prepared to process information classified as Restricted/NATO Restricted.

Perad was created in response to the Polish Armed Forces« requirements for an advanced broadband communication tool for soldiers on the battlefield. The Personal Radio Station was designed for communication in even the most difficult conditions, including situations where the enemy actively uses electronic warfare systems.

The device is a software-defined radio (SDR). Thanks to innovative solutions, it provides high-quality voice transmission and long battery life while maintaining compact size and low weight. The personal radio station can create a self-organizing communication network consisting of several devices (MANET).

Perad operates in a full multi-user conference mode. It features low spectral signal density, hopping, and built-in cryptographic algorithms. It allows the transmission of data based on the IP protocol, including video images and photos, and ensures voice communication.

The Personal Radio Station is distinguished by low power consumption and intelligent energy management. This makes it difficult for the enemy to detect the device while enabling multi-day operation in energy-saving modes. It allows for standby in radio silence and transitions to operational mode in seconds without GPS signal.

Perad enables increased communication range and coverage over vast areas, including buildings, forests, and mountains, using radio relay stations carried by drones. It provides an information advantage while minimizing electromagnetic signature.
