80 New Rosomaks: Agreement Signed with an Option for More
Yesterday, at the headquarters of the Polish Ministry of Defence, a contract was signed for the delivery of new Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carriers (KTO) for the Polish Armed Forces, with an option to extend the order in the future.
On Monday afternoon, the Ministry of National Defence announced plans to acquire dozens of brand-new Rosomak-L armored personnel carriers, equipped with the ZSSW-30 remotely controlled turret system.
Brigadier General Artur Kuptel, head of the Armament Agency, signed an executive contract on behalf of the State Treasury for the delivery of 80 Rosomak-L units to the Land Forces. The contractors are Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. (leader of the ZSSW-30 consortium, also including WB Electronics) and Rosomak S.A. (chassis supplier). The contract is valued at PLN 4.3 billion. Along with the vehicles, the military will receive logistics and training packages.
Deliveries of the modified Rosomak variant are scheduled for 2027–2028, an exceptionally quick timeline for the domestic defense industry.

These are very rapid, almost lightning-fast deliveries, for which I am deeply grateful. I am pleased to see that Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa is gaining momentum following the changes made this year. (...) We are counting on you again this year but especially next year for additional contracts. We're looking forward to the Borsuk program.
Deputy PM, Head of the Polish Ministry of Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Paweł Bejda, President of the Board of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ Group) Krzysztof Trofiniak, CEO of Rosomak S.A. Cezary Dominiak, CEO of HSW S.A. Wojciech Kędziera, Barbara Cena, Board Member at HSW S.A. and other representatives from the Polish defenCe industry involved in the project.
The Rosomak-L variant features an extended hull compared to older models in the family. This modification, part of the Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) package developed by Rosomak S.A., increases the vehicle’s payload and displacement reserve for amphibious setting operations. As a result, the Rosomak-L retains its ability to traverse water obstacles in an amphibious setting, even with the heavier ZSSW-30 turret module compared to the manned Hitfist-30P turret. Vehicles built to this specification are designated as MLU 3 by the manufacturer.

Previous orders for Rosomaks equipped with the ZSSW-30 turret system involved vehicles with the original “short” hull. Due to reduced displacement reserves for amphibious operations, these units lacked amphibious capability. In 2023, 70 units of this specification were procured, followed by an additional 58 units ordered in July of this year. It is expected that future orders for the Rosomak wheeled infantry fighting vehicle variant will focus on units with the extended hull.
