The strike was conducted by a Ukrainian Border Guard FPV drone from the „Phoenix” unit. The target was a Russian logistics truck driving 103 km behind enemy lines. According to Clash Report, such a strike could be claimed as a world record for a standard FPV quadcopter with no relay assistance.

We are talking about an extraordinary range record for such a system. The „Phoenix” unit noted that 70–80 km strikes are now routine. The recent strike required the operator to fly over 100 km before they even found a valid target.

At this point, the Ukrainian army has more experience with drone warfare than anyone else. It has been fighting on the modern battlefield for several years now, and its tactics keep developing. No wonder we are observing better and better performance of those systems. It’s not only the FPV drones that the Ukrainian army uses. Deep strikes into Russian territory are becoming standard now, and for those, the army uses long-range drones like the Liutyi and Palianytsia systems. For those attacks, Ukraine targets Russian oil refineries, ports and weapons warehouses.
