The Polish Armed Forces are gradually taking delivery of additional Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carriers (APCs) fitted with the ZSSW-30 turret (with that turret they could be viewed as wheeled IFVs). The Armament Agency has provided Defence24.pl with information regarding these deliveries.
Until now, we had been informed of two deliveries of Rosomak APCs with ZSSW-30 turrets to the Polish Army—five vehicles in December 2023 and five more in December 2024. Since then, no further delivery updates have appeared, even though, based on contract schedules, we should be seeing many more this year. We therefore asked the Armament Agency how many vehicles in this configuration have been delivered so far, and how many are planned for handover to the Army before year’s end.
The Agency’s Press Office replied that since December 2024, 11 vehicles have been delivered, and that by the end of 2025 they expect to deliver another dozen or so Rosomaks with the ZSSW-30 turret. Thus, the Polish Army currently possesses 21 vehicles in this configuration, and this number will rise by another dozen-plus in the coming months.
It is worth noting that the 2024 annual report of Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., in its chapter on anticipated financial developments, including the balance sheet and profit & loss statement for 2025, mentions the sale of 25 Rosomaks with the ZSSW-30 turret. Therefore, if the industry manages to deliver the planned number of vehicles, the Army will by year’s end field 35 such vehicles (leaving 14 still to be delivered).

To date, the Polish Army has ordered 128 Rosomaks of this variant (70 + 58), of which the second procurement contract covers the first vehicles produced entirely anew in years—featuring, among other upgrades, more powerful engines. Deliveries under these contracts run from 2024 to 2027 and 2026 to 2027, respectively. A few months ago, a contract was signed for further vehicles of this family with the ZSSW-30 turret, in the eagerly awaited „Long” variant, which will be capable of amphibious operations.
That contract’s deliveries are scheduled for 2027–2028, and, according to the Armament Agency, further orders are expected in the future (plans so far call for acquiring at least 174 Long-variant vehicles).
The Rosomak with the ZSSW-30 turret is a licensed variant of the Finnish Patria AMV wheeled APC, built under license by Rosomak S.A. in Siemianowice Śląskie. Compared to its Finnish predecessor, it has slightly reduced dimensions to allow air transport in medium transport aircraft such as the C-130 Hercules. The vehicle’s main armament is a 30 mm Bushmaster II Mk 44S chain gun, coaxially mounted with a 7.62 mm UKM-2000C machine gun. For engaging armored targets, it carries two Spike-LR anti-tank guided missiles in a dual external launcher. The turret’s armor meets STANAG 4569 Level 2 (upgradeable to Level 4).
The hull armor protects the crew from 14.5 mm caliber ammunition from the front and 7.62 mm caliber rounds from the sides and rear. Additional applique armor kits are available, though fitting them compromises amphibious capability. With these kits, the front hull can withstand older 30 mm autocannon rounds (e.g., Russian 2A42), and the sides reach STANAG 4569 Level 4, protecting against armor-piercing 14.5 mm ammunition.
Power is provided by a new Scania DC 13 diesel engine rated at 610 hp, enabling speeds up to 100 km/h at a service weight of about 23.5 t. While the ZSSW-30–equipped version is amphibious, its margin for afloat payload is minimal, so amphibious operations are not standard.
