On July 3, the Armament Agency announced the launch of preliminary market consultations regarding the acquisition of a new ship for the Navy. This marks the start of the SUPPLY programme’s implementation.
The vessel in question will be an auxiliary replenishment ship, a fuel tanker, procured under the SUPPLY programme. Its mission will be to transport and distribute fuel, water, lubricants, food, and other supplies to seagoing units. The Armament Agency is favoring off‑the‑shelf solutions, and submissions from interested parties will be accepted until 18th July.
These consultations are intended to gather information on available market solutions, their technical specifications, and the experience of the entities proposing them.

This is not the first time the military has sought a contractor for the SUPPLY program. In 2016, the Armament Inspectorate opened a procurement procedure for this type of vessel, but a year later the process was canceled after all bids were rejected. Currently, the Navy operates one tanker, the Z‑1 ORP Bałtyk, which has been in service since 1991.
