The first batch of COMP@N-Z radio stations manufactured by Radmor, a WB Group company, has been delivered to the Polish Armed Forces.
This is the second communications system in the history of Polish military radio communications to obtain cryptographic protection certification. The radio station, developed entirely by the WB Group, is approved for the protection of classified information with a Restricted classification. As emphasised by the manufacturer’s representatives, this is an important step towards increasing Poland’s technological sovereignty.
„The introduction of the COMP@N-Z system into service in the Polish Armed Forces strengthens Poland’s position as a manufacturer of modern communications systems meeting the highest security standards in the country, NATO and the European Union. The position of an independent radio manufacturer is crucial in the context of growing defence requirements and a changing security environment,” reads the manufacturer’s statement.
In addition to advanced tactical communications functions, the COMP@N-Z software-defined radio has undergone a full verification process covering not only the device itself, but also the software, waveform, and cryptographic document management and generation system.
The COMP@N-Z system includes the H09-Z/1 handheld radio using BMS IP and W2FH waveforms with increased interference immunity. A key element of the device is a classified information transmission system that allows the exchange of classified voice signals and data in accordance with SCIP/STACiS (STANAG 5068) and NINE (STANAG 4787) standards.
In addition to the software-defined radio (SDR) handheld radio H-09-Z/1, the COMP@N-Z system also includes the V09-Z/1 vehicle radio, a Radio Network Planning System, a Cryptographic Data Management and Generation System, and a wide range of accessories (chargers, power supplies, adapters, amplifiers, antennas, microphones, loudspeakers, headsets and manipulators).
The COMP@N-Z communication system enables the processing of classified information up to the Restricted/NATO & EU Restricted level, as confirmed by the Military Counterintelligence Service certificate of 12 June 2025. The radio station also allows for open and classified voice communication and classified data transmission.
The Radio Network Planning System allows for the planning and organisation of communications in command and control networks at the tactical level – from brigade level downwards. The Cryptographic Data Management and Generation System is responsible for the initialisation and personalisation of radio stations, the generation and preparation of cryptographic data, and the management of the radio station life cycle.
