Russia intends to deploy additional systems in Belarus

In the near future, four ground control stations for long-range strike drones may be deployed in Belarus. Russia is once again asserting its military presence in that country.

“We have clear information that Russia plans to further deploy ground control stations for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles both on the Russian-occupied territory of Ukraine and—four stations—on the territory of Belarus. We will respond accordingly,” reads President Zelensky’s post on Telegram.

In connection with this development, instructions were issued to share with partners and media representatives the data that Ukraine is able to make public. The Ukrainian president is convinced that the Russian military command is exaggerating its own achievements on the front line and is using this false information in the negotiation process within the Ukraine–US–Russia format.

In the second half of 2025, Russia deployed a system of relay stations for controlling strike drones on Belarusian territory. This allowed the Russian army to attack Ukraine’s northern regions—from Kyiv to Volyn. The President of Belarus has made his country’s territory available to Russia since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine. Belarus itself is deeply integrated with the Russian Federation economically and militarily within the framework of the so-called Union State of Russia and Belarus.
