The Polish Ministry of Defence announced today the current status of the Orka program. As emphasized, everything „is proceeding according to plan and without delays.”
On the X platform, the MoD reported that the Armament Agency has now delivered the complete documentation to the Technical Modernization Council, including equipment requirements, a feasibility study, as well as analyses and recommendations regarding the bids. This submission is a response to a letter from former crew members of ORP “Sokół.”
“At present, the intergovernmental consultation phase is underway, which was initiated at the level of the Ministry of National Defense (…) Such dialogues are a standard part of projects executed in a government-to-government (G2G) framework, where not only industrial matters but also strategic and political issues are key,” reads the MoD’s statement. “The procurement procedure will be formally launched after the consultations conclude; this is a well-considered, multi-stage process conducted with due diligence, transparently, and in the interest of the country’s security,” adds the Polish Ministry of Defence.
