4th Edition of the Defence24 DAY Conference - 24th - 25th May, Warsaw

Defence24 Group, the publisher of the Defence24.pl, is organizing the fourth edition of the Defence 24 DAY conference. The event is scheduled to last two days, and it would be accompanied by an exhibition of military equipment, including the Future War section - depicting the future battlespace and innovative defence technologies. The dialogue during the conference would be devoted to the development of the defence system in Poland and the region, taking into account the experiences derived from the war in Ukraine. Honorary patronage would be provided by Mariusz Błaszczak, head of the Polish MoD, and the National Security Bureau.

Defence24 DAY is a leading Central and Eastern European defence and security sector conference. As it is taking place for the fourth time, it has become a forum of relevant dialogue between the key Polish and international stakeholders including the Government officials, Polish Armed Forces, Allies, and Partners, with a particular emphasis placed on Central and Eastern Europe, industry, and experts. The event is taking place under the honorary patronage of the head of the Polish MoD, Mariusz Błaszczak, National Security Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Government Centre for Security.

This year’s edition would be focused on dialogue revolving around the structural changes in the Polish Armed Forces, expected to take place in response to the rapidly evolving threats, the “common defence” concept, and reinforcement thereof. This includes the legislative framework formed by the Act on Homeland Defence, the establishment of the regional security systems, as well as technologies necessary to survive the harsh environment of the future battlefield.

The event would be accompanied by an exhibition of military equipment, including the Future War section - depicting the future battlespace and innovative defence technologies. The discussion, during the conference, would also cover the directions of development defined for the Polish defence industry, including the international involvement, and the use of new instruments provided by NATO and the EU. The participants will also discuss the war in Ukraine and its impact on the shaping of the security in the region. The topics would also include energy security and the establishment of national resilience.

The key themes for the Defence24 DAY would be as follows:

  • NATO adaptation and the new Strategic Concept of the alliance;
  • Military Cooperation in the Central and Eastern Europe;
  • Structural changes in the Polish Armed Forces - evolution vs. revolution?;
  • Act on Homeland Defence - an opportunity to reinforce the Polish defence system;
  • Multi-Domain Joint Operations Capabilities Development for the Polish Armed Forces;
  • Future battlespace, cyber-security included;
  • Polish SOF Component - 15 years of operation;
  • Role of the military intelligence in the national security framework;
  • Potential of the defence industry in the modernization of the Armed Forces;
  • Reinforcement of the state resilience towards a broad spectrum of threats.

The last edition of the Defence24 DAY conference involved, among other participants: Head of the Polish MoD, Mariusz Błaszczak, Head at the National Security Bureau Paweł Soloch, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence Wojciech Skurkiewicz, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Climate and Environment Jacek Ozdoba, Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets Artur Soboń, Paweł Jabłoński, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, general Jarosław Mika, Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, lt. general Tomasz Piotrowski, Commander of the Territorial Defence Forces, Lt General Wiesław Kukuła, 1st Deputy of the General Commander of the Armed Forces 2016-2021, General Jan Śliwka, Deputy Head at the General Staff, Div. Gen. Piotr Błazeusz, First Deputy of the Chief Police Commander, Superintendent Dariusz Augustyniak, as well as other highly-ranked officers, politicians, experts, and defence industry insiders.

Warsaw-based EXPO XXI in Ignacego Prądzyńskiego 12/14 street would be the venue. The event is scheduled to happen between 24th and 25th May.
