Evaluating Europe's loitering munition tech. The Sentinel Strike Challenge

The first stage of the Sentinel Strike Challenge organised by the European Defence Agency has concluded. More than 140 companies were interested, and now the EDA has named five firms that will move to the finals of the competition.
According to the EDA, the Sentinel Strike Challenge is “a two-stage competition designed to evaluate and field-test Europe’s most promising loitering munition technologies.” As stated, more than 140 companies have expressed their interest, and five of them have been chosen by the EDA to advance to the next stage. Those businesses are Helsing (Germany), Destinus (Netherlands), C-Astral Aerospace (Slovenia), UAVision (Portugal) and SAS Tech (Greece).
The second stage of the competition will include a test of systems at the Santa Margarida military training area in Portugal during EU OPEX26. They will be assessed by military users from EU Member States under realistic and operationally relevant conditions, comparing their performance across the same scenarios.
The winners of the Sentinel Strike Challenge will collectively receive up to EUR 1.8 million in Stage 2 prizes.
