RAK SELF-PROPELLED MORTAR

Krab, at the moment, is going through two independent phases of polonization: HSW S.A. is getting ready to manufacture the chassis on the basis of the K9 license in Poland, at the same time obtaining readiness to series manufacture the final element of the cannon - the bore. Starting from the second DMO (Division-level Fire Module), the Krab howitzer is to feature as little imported components and parts as possible. Image Credit: J. Reszczyński.

  • It still remains unknown, when the ammunition branch of the Polish defence industry would catch up with the “Rak” programme development. Even if the precision guided munitions seem not to be very urgently needed, the issue of finalizing the works related to the basic HE round seems to have a burning character, taking into account the deadline, on which the first M120 unit is to be delivered.
