German soldiers will help Poland on the border with Russia and Belarus
From April 2026 until the end of 2027, Bundeswehr soldiers will assist in securing Poland’s border with Russia and Belarus. What exactly will their role entail?
The German dailyBild reported on a new mission involving Bundeswehr troops. Starting in April next year, they will help secure Poland’s eastern border (with Russia and Belarus).
The involvement of (likely several dozen) German soldiers will focus on engineering tasks. What kind of tasks? According toBild, this includes, among other things, the construction of anti-tank barriers. As reported byMoney.pl, “sending Bundeswehr soldiers to Poland does not require the approval of the Bundestag, as this is not a mission that would expose soldiers to direct danger.”
