The Ukrainian President announced the conclusion of the meeting on his X profile on Tuesday, 12th of May. „Step by step, we are developing cooperation with the American defence sector. Palantir is a renowned global company with strong potential, and there certainly are areas where we can be useful to one another, strengthening the defence of Ukraine, America, and our partners.”

The meeting with the CEO of Palantir Technologies, which took place in Kyiv, has been described as „good.” The parties have discussed areas of technological development in the context of combat operations and civilian needs alike.

Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has also said he had met with the CEO. „It was a privilege to host Alex Karp in Kyiv—a leader who personally stood with us since 2022. Today, our partnership is defined by tangible results: from advanced air attack analysis and AI-driven intelligence processing to precision deep strike planning,” reads his X post. „By integrating Palantir’s world-class solutions—trusted by NATO and valued at over $330 billion—we are securing a technological edge that protects our skies and dismantles the enemy’s potential,” he added. Fedorov has thanked Alex and the whole Palantir team for their „unwavering support.”

Palantir positions itself as one of the most prominent players in the artificial intelligence market. It’s a US-based company, and it already provides said technologies to the US military. While the cooperation could be of great benefit to the Ukrainian forces, it will also deepen US influence on the state. Palantir is regularly criticised. The company is accused of using its technologies for spying on citizens, violating human rights, and supporting repressive actions. The company also cooperates with the American agency ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), which used Palantir software to locate and detain illegal immigrants.
