The Polish Armaments Group has a new president. He is Adam Leszkiewicz, until recently the head of Grupa Azoty. The Supervisory Board of the Polish Armaments Group decided that the presidency of the national holding, which brings together the largest state-owned defense companies, will be held by Adam Leszkiewicz, who until now has led Grupa Azoty. However, on Friday he submitted his resignation from that position.

Appointment of Adam Leszkiewicz as head of PGZ comes as no surprise; as Defence24.pl reported, once the envelopes were opened in the selection process, he was regarded as the favorite. Grupa Azoty already last year deepened its collaboration with the defense sector in the production of ammunition components.

In the past, Adam Leszkiewicz served, among other roles, as a member of the Management Board of STEAG Energo Mineral Sp. z o.o. (2017–2022) and as President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty ZAK S.A. (2012–2016). From 2009 to 2011 he was Vice Minister of State Treasury, and earlier (from 2007) he served as a deputy minister in the Office of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The new PGZ president thus has extensive managerial experience and is closely connected with the Civic Platform political environment.

Let us recall that at the beginning of April, the previous PGZ president, Krzysztof Trofiniak, tendered his resignation. Trofiniak had led the Polish Armaments Group since March 2024.
