According to reports, the US administration requested Ukraine’s assistance in connection with the ongoing war with Iran. “We are conducting detailed discussions with our partners at all necessary levels. Our teams are already cooperating with five countries on countering Shaheds—we have provided expert assessments and are helping to build a protection system,” President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on social media.

Ukrainian specialists are currently stationed in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan. As Umerov explained, the work is being carried out in two main areas. “The first involves the use of Ukrainian technologies to counter aerial threats, particularly attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles. The second consists of consultations with partners on assessing the security situation and preparing practical solutions for airspace protection, taking into account Ukraine’s experience.”

Ukrainian services have already deployed interception units to protect civilian and critical infrastructure. Efforts are underway to expand the protected zones and to develop long-term security cooperation with each of these countries.

Ukraine’s activities in the Middle East exemplify the practical application of experience gained during the Russo-Ukrainian war. This experience will serve as an asset for Ukraine in the coming years. Ukraine’s involvement in the Middle Eastern conflict has drawn a response from Iran. The head of the Iranian parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, Ebrahim Azizi, declared that Ukraine has become a legitimate military target.
