For 75 years, Moog has been designing and manufacturing high-quality motion-control systems. Moog technologies include, among others, actuation and drive systems, avionics, power and data management, launch vehicles, satellite systems, and fully integrated solutions for missions conducted in the air, land, maritime, space and multi-domain environments. In addition to supplying hardware, Moog works with customers on the design, integration and support of mission-critical programs.

In the military systems sector, Moog supplies the U.S. Army with, among other products, remotely operated modular RIwP (Reconfigurable Integrated-Weapons Platform) turret systems intended for applications including Short-Range Air Defense (SHORAD), Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS), and other missions.

The RIwP system is installed on the M1265A1 Sgt. Stout M-SHORAD self-propelled gun-and-missile air-defense system. Its armament includes an M914 30 mm cannon chambered for 30×113 mm ammunition, a coaxial M240 7.62 mm machine gun chambered for 7.62×51 mm ammunition, and modular launchers for missiles such as the AGM-114 Hellfire and FIM-92 Stinger. The FMP weapons platform represents a further development of this concept.

The FMP (Flexible Mission Platform) features a modular design that allows it to be installed on various types of manned and unmanned platforms operating both on land and at sea. It can be integrated with light and medium wheeled platforms, medium tracked platforms, containers, or cargo trailers.

Thanks to its modular architecture, the launcher can be equipped with various types of guided missiles. Different missile types can also be combined on the same platform, including air-defense missiles, guided weapons such as anti-tank guided missiles, and missiles used aboard naval vessels.

The FMP can additionally accommodate sensors and various types of non-kinetic effectors, including electro-optical sensors and counter-unmanned-system effectors employing microwave emitters or directed-energy technologies. The FMP itself has the following technical specifications:

  • Weight, excluding missile launcher: approx. 350 kg
  • Maximum load at each mounting point: 250 kg
  • Power supply: 28 VDC in accordance with IL-STD-1275D
  • Traverse: 360°
  • Elevation range: –10° to +30°
  • Traverse rate: 1 rad/s
  • Traverse acceleration: 1.7 rad/s²
  • Weapon elevation rate: 0.5 rad/s
  • Weapon elevation acceleration: 3 rad/s²

Missile-system components

Moog also supplies components for various types of missile-based weapon systems. These include components for supersonic missile systems, tactical strike systems, ballistic missiles, and air- and missile-defense systems.

During MSPO 2026, Moog will also showcase components and systems manufactured in Europe that are not subject to ITAR regulations governing the export and import of defense technologies and services. The products on display will include, among others, actuators, controllers, turret-drive systems, stabilization systems, ruggedized optical solutions and hydraulic pumps.
