Polish-Slovak cooperation. Dialogue with the participation of the Minister of National Defence
The Polish–Slovak Defence-Industrial Dialogue begins in Bratislava — an event aimed at giving new momentum to defence cooperation in Central Europe. In an era of growing threats on NATO’s eastern flank, Warsaw and Bratislava are focusing on integrating capabilities, increasing ammunition production, and jointly developing unmanned technologies. Defence24.pl is a co-organizer of the event.
The meeting in the Slovak capital is not just another diplomatic platform but, above all, a substantive forum for industrial cooperation. The main goal of the dialogue is to develop practical mechanisms that will allow the transition from political declarations to the implementation of joint defense projects, strengthening the deterrence potential of the entire region.
Key Pillars of Cooperation
The discussion focuses on areas where the national interests of both countries are most aligned. Experts and government representatives are concentrating on five priority directions:
- Development of joint capabilities: Building a coherent industrial ecosystem in Central Europe.
- Increasing production capacity: The priority is scaling up the production of ammunition and equipment for land forces, directly responding to the realities of the modern battlefield.
- Innovation and unmanned systems: Cooperation in the field of autonomous systems and next-generation technologies.
- NATO and EU resilience: Integration of supply chains to make the regional industry more resistant to global disruptions.
- Financing: Developing concrete mechanisms to support multibillion-dollar defense investments.
SAFE – A Strategic Growth Tool
One of the most important points on the agenda is the SAFE (Security Action for Europe) program. In both Warsaw and Bratislava, this instrument is seen as a strategic opportunity for a breakthrough in defence investments. The program aims to:
- Rapidly accelerate investments in production infrastructure.
- Build lasting, cross-border industrial competencies.
- Fully leverage the technological potential of Polish and Slovak companies by integrating them into European supply chains.
From Poland’s perspective, the SAFE program is primarily a tool for scaling up production, while for Slovakia it serves as an impetus for deeper integration of the national industry with the EU market.
A Regional Alliance of Giants
The event has attracted key players from the defence sectors of both countries. The general partner of the dialogue is DMD Group (Konštrukta-Defence, ZŤS Špeciál). Strong representation has been provided by Polish and Slovak defence groups, including Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), WB Group, and CSG (MSM Group, ZVS Holding), as well as companies such as APS, Castelior, REKORD Hale Namiotowe, and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) on the Polish side, and MSM Export, EVPÚ, CSM Industry, Deftech, R-SYS on the Slovak side.
Institutional partners also support the cooperation — the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland, and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bratislava. The event is organized by European Defence Analytics in cooperation with Defence24, which serves as co-organizer and content and media partner.
A New Impulse for the Region
Defence24’s co-organization of this event aligns with its strategy of building a regional platform for security dialogue. The Bratislava meeting could become the foundation for an integrated defense market in this part of Europe. If the current political will translates into concrete contracts and production lines, Central Europe has the potential to become a key manufacturing hub for NATO and the European Union.
