For the first time in such a broad format, representatives of administrations as well as state-owned and private companies will meet to discuss synergies and the prospects for defence-industrial cooperation between Poland and Slovakia.

A year ago, on 24 February 2025 in Warsaw, the defence ministers of Poland and Slovakia — Deputy Prime Ministers Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Robert Kaliňák — signed a letter of intent to strengthen cooperation in the defence-industrial sector. At that time a tightening of cooperation was announced, among others, in the areas of air defence, increased ammunition production, production of a wheeled armoured personnel carrier and tank programmes.

The Polish–Slovak Defence-Industrial Dialogue aims not only to review existing cooperation and highlight the production potential offered to the armed forces by the defence sectors of both countries. The conference will also be an opportunity to outline new possibilities for cooperation, build synergistic solutions and define new areas of collaboration.

The event format, which will take place in a conference centre in Bratislava, will allow a comprehensive look at Polish-Slovak relations: from presentations of achievements to date in the context of ongoing armed forces modernisation programmes, through discussion of financial support instruments, to thematic sessions with business representatives devoted to concrete solutions and discussions about cooperation opportunities. The programme will be rounded off by networking activities conducive to consolidating and establishing new business contacts.

Alongside opening remarks from the leadership of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland, the conference programme includes a review panel with officials and experts, a special session devoted to presentation of the SAFE programme and instruments supporting cooperation (including bilateral cooperation), as well as thematic sessions on ammunition production, new solutions for land forces, unmanned systems and counter-drone defence.
